Tambino is the project of Peruvian-born, NYC-based artist Kam Tambini. Born in Lima, Peru, with his childhood spent across Bogotá and Washington, D.C., Tambini moved to New York City at the age of 17 and toured across North America and the UK with his band Glass Gang.
Tambino takes cues from Kam’s Peruvian and Latin background and reinterprets them through the lens of his time in New York and DC’s punk scenes. Sin Miedo, which translates to “without fear” and embodies Tambino’s genre-agnostic approach to his music, follows his self-titled debut EP released in 2020 The new EP, produced by Michael Beharie, is layered with various genre threads that inform Tambino’s developing sonic invention ‘cumbiagaze,’ building atop traditional Latin sounds.
