Fly Anakin announces his debut studio album Frank, out March 11th via Lex Records.
The album, which includes his two widely-praised singles from 2021 “Ghost” and “Sean Price,” is a bold statement from Anakin as not only a technically-gifted rapper, but as a fully-realized artist and songwriter. Frank experiments with expectation, finding Anakin drawing influence from the classic R&B and Soul his dad played for him at a formative age and crafting songs in that mold.
Clocking in at under 2 minutes, the Madlib-produced “No Dough” is a flash in the pan reflection of Anakin’s journey to this point, chronicling humble beginnings before realizing his own worth and making that intent clear.
The single arrives alongside a rapidly-unfolding visual of a quick and slick-handed scheme to take back what’s his directed by Skyler Vander Molen.
